Welcome to my tarot blog. I am a tarot beginner, I picked up my Rider-Waite deck shortly after Christmas 2009 after having wanted to learn to read for a long time. I keep this blog mostly for myself, but would welcome any discussion that anybody would like to contribute to my tarot journaling. I am especially interested in the history of Tarot/Tarocchi and would like to learn not only how to read Tarot cards, but Tarot card games as well.

Daily Tarot Card, Aug 5 2010: Wheel of Fortune

Daily Tarot Card, Aug 5 2010: Wheel of Fortune

This morning I took some time to get back into photo blogging my daily Tarot Card Draw. If I'm honest, I haven't drawn cards very regularly the past couple of months. That said this week I've been working with the cards a lot, inspired by some reading that my sister-in-law and I did on the weekend. This week I've done a lot of shuffling, and have been looking at the minor arcana. I hope to soon move on to the court cards, and I think once I'm past my court card block, I'll enjoy the cards a lot more- I am also considering a new deck (Morgan Greer or Robin Wood, would like to go to Little Mysteries and handle them both first).

This morning I pulled the wheel of fortune. Though it's only Thursday I feel this card actually sums up my week so far pretty good, the boss lady is away so we have all been taking initiative to keep everything on the rails to a variety of results*. I also think that the beasts in the corners, all reading, show my Tarot study from this week, and my belly dance class homework :)

*After I put my summary up and put this up to facebook already so sister-in-law could see, I realized that I didn't really speak to why it sums up my work week very well- I think the quantity of different figures/beasts could show all of us at work (I haven't assigned co-workers to any of them in particular, their variety eludes to the variety of experience and positions we hold, I think, and like us, they are hard at work) and since we're all working a little bit on things that don't usually have our attention, we're all doing a sort of balancing act like the sworded sphynx on top of the wheel of fortune. There now! That's a better write-up!
