Welcome to my tarot blog. I am a tarot beginner, I picked up my Rider-Waite deck shortly after Christmas 2009 after having wanted to learn to read for a long time. I keep this blog mostly for myself, but would welcome any discussion that anybody would like to contribute to my tarot journaling. I am especially interested in the history of Tarot/Tarocchi and would like to learn not only how to read Tarot cards, but Tarot card games as well.

Daily Tarot Card Draw, March 25 2010: 8 of Pentacles (reversed)

Daily Tarot Card Draw, March 25 2010: 8 of Pentacles (reversed)
Originally uploaded by j.goreham

Yesterday morning, I drew the 8 of Pentacles in the reversed position. (Full disclosure: I had a crazy day today and skipped pulling a card at all, let alone blogging it! Sorry!)

In the 8 of Pentacles we see a man with a lot of his work surrounding him, and he is still working on another piece. Regardless of the reversal, I think the image Pamela has depicted in this card completely and utterly describes my day on the 25th. I worked fastidiously on tax receipts (it's that time of year again!) and helped my boss put together a document that was highly time-sensitive and we worked right until the very second we needed to submit it. I strongly identified with the figure depicted in the card yesterday, so I was quite appreciative of my later social outing last night (went to see Shutter Island with a friend) and enjoyed a well-deserved day-off today (even if it did start in the dentist's chair- eep!).

Hopefully I will get back "on" with my daily draws during or after the weekend, I've been not leaving for work so early (what do I have to go early for anyway?) so I find I have time to sit down with my tea and pull a card, and to photograph them. Hopefully I can start blogging them in a more timely way.
