Welcome to my tarot blog. I am a tarot beginner, I picked up my Rider-Waite deck shortly after Christmas 2009 after having wanted to learn to read for a long time. I keep this blog mostly for myself, but would welcome any discussion that anybody would like to contribute to my tarot journaling. I am especially interested in the history of Tarot/Tarocchi and would like to learn not only how to read Tarot cards, but Tarot card games as well.

O Y halo thar Death card!

Drew Death this morning for my daily Tarot card, from Tell-Me Tarot. The card reads "Death = Termination & Renewal/Let go of past patterns, people, or activities in order to allow renewal and personal growth." Yesterday I was reading 2 Hour Tarot Tutor (it's a library book, due back Wednesday) and she mentioned that lots of beginner tarot readers get death a lot in their practice readings, which makes sense I guess- the Death card really refers to the end of a past cycle so a new one can begin. I can't think of anything particular that the Death card could mean for me today, so I'm going to assume it's to do with taking up Tarot. The Death card isn't so bad, especially in this deck- look, the sun is even coming up. I can't decide if the little tree is sprouting out of a pile of rubble, or a burial mound. "Life" after "Death", to me, the Death card has more to do with what comes after a "death".
